The 29 year old teacher might have had sexual contact with a 17 year old student. She was a social-studes teacher at a Colorado high school. McCandless is being charged with having sexual contact with a student during an overnight school trip. Carrie could be sentenced up to 12 years in prison. Brighton Police Chief Clint Blackhurst says Carrie McCandless was the only adult on the trip. McCandless taught for six years at Brighton Charter High.
